what gets rid of bedbugs
EcoRaider was named the #1 Bio-Insecticide for Bed Bugs in a study published by the Entomological Society of America. In order to maximize performance, we recommend you follow these steps for treating bed bug infestations.
Step 1: Inspect and Identify
Using a powerful flashlight, inspect the sleeping area for signs of bed bugs. Carefully inspect all sides of the mattress along the seams and piping, under the handles and labels. Bed bugs are typically ¼” long, flat and brown to red in color. They can be found in a variety of life stages including egg, nymph and adult. Bed bug eggs hatch in two weeks into nymphs. Adult bed bugs may survive without feeding for 9 months!
Step 2: Preparation
Begin by removing bed linens and mattress cover from the bed. Remove clothing from drawers and closets, if possible. Use a plastic bag to transfer them to the laundry room. As long as the fabric label allows, tumble dry all bedding, linen, mattress cover and clothing on the highest temperature for at least 30 minutes. This will kill bed bugs at all stages.
Carefully inspect areas of clutter. Place items into a heavy-duty plastic bag such as shoes, books, toys, small furniture, electronics, etc. Saturate a towel with EcoRaider and place inside of the bag with the items. Seal the bag, shake well and leave for two weeks before opening to kill off any bed bugs.
Step 3: Treatment
EcoRaider can be used as is for bed bugs. Please read the product label carefully and shake the container well before use.
Separate the mattress and the box spring from the bed frame. Thoroughly spray all sides of the mattress especially the seams, piping, under the handles and labels. Make sure all seam and edges are wet. Lightly spray the front and back side of the mattress and box spring.
Spray all sides of the headboard and bed frame. Spot treat any edge, corner, joint, nook and cranny or areas thought to be bed bug hiding spots as you go.
Spray all soft furnishings in the room including their seams and folds of fabric chairs and sofas. Turn over and spray bottom of furniture thoroughly. Spot treat all seams, edges, corners, joints and nooks and crannies. If chair and sofas have hollow construction, spray into hollow space as thoroughly as possible.
Spot treat curtain folds where you may find evidence of bed bugs or bed bug hiding places. Or take down, place in a sealed bag and tumble dry on the hottest temperature that the fabric will allow.
Bed bugs have even been known to hide in baseboard and crown moldings as well as drop down ceilings. Spray along every inch of molding and baseboard, concentrating on those closest to the sleeping area.
If you have carpet in the room, spray along the edge of the carpet regardless if it is wall to wall or an area fug. Lightly spray the rest of the carpet.
Spot treat any cracks and crevices in the wall, furniture, floor or other structure. Once sprayed on the surface, EcoRaider will penetrate and reach into the void by itself.
Step 4: Post Treatment
Pull furniture away from the wall and caulk cracks and crevices in the wall, furniture or floor where bed bugs can hide, concentrating on crevices near the sleeping area.
Now you have completed your first treatment with EcoRaider. For light or moderate infestations, and if done properly, one treatment may be enough. For medium to heavy infestations, it is recommended that you re-treat every 2 to 3 weeks, or more if necessary. During that time you should notice a significant decrease in bed bug bites.
EcoRaider is a green solution to your bed bug problem with uncompromising performance. However, the thoroughness of the treatment is equally important. Follow the instructions with persistence and you can win the battle against bed bugs. Thank you.
